Our hall
In the palace there are two oratories, on the ground floor and on the first one in the “Suite del Vescovo”. An epigraph on the portal made of “pietra leccese”, says: “PRO SE SVISO OMNIBUS”. The script is still being studied. One interpretation said “(fight) for himself and for all”. This epigraph, together with the nobiliary sign situated near the main door, underlines Baldi family’s property of the palace.
In the atrium there is the reception at the centre of a cross vault. There is an ecclesiastical sigilli attesting the presence of the Bishop Gabriele Adarzo De Santander during the 17th century.
In one of the hall we can see the “Muro intatto” made by a particular variety of tufa know as “mazzara”. It was used because it was the outcrop of the cave, and had to be perforce removed to obtain other types of tufas, like the “pietra leccese”, largely used in the palace.
The atrium houses the directory, used as stable in the past, with typical horses manger.
